A Reposado Tequila has been”rested” in a cask. Aged in oak barrels for between 2 months and 11 months, Reposados pick up a golden hue and take on the flavors of the wood. In terms of flavour intensity, a Reposado will be between a Blanco and an Añejo. While still having the “agave” kick or warmth that a Blanco has, it will have mellowed and taken on the flavors of the wood (but will not have acquired the smoothness of an Añejo).
Spanish for ‘aged,’ Reposados can also be know as “rested” and “aged.”2014-07-08 10:46:03

How to Drink Reposado:
Reposado is nice to sip straight and at room temperature or with a few whiskey stones to chill. However, because of the flavourful warmth it has, shots are also a great way to enjoy it. Salt and lime are not recommended as a Reposado does not have the ‘burn’ of the younger Tequilas and salt and lime will mask the flavors picked up while resting and mellowing.
If you are looking for Tequila to do shots with salt and lime try a Blanco.
Reposado stands on its own as a great drink. However, if you would like to enjoy a Tequila cocktail that won’t be overwhelmed by a strong Tequila flavour, then Reposado is the way to go.Here is a nice suggestion:
2 parts Reposado Tequila
1 part Cointreau
1/2 part Lime juice
splash of cranberry juice
Shake all with ice and strain.
Patron is among the most popular Tequilas in the world, But this popularity should not indicate cheapness or low quality. Patron makes luxury Tequilas that are widely available and it’s success is well-earned. People enjoy drinking it simply because it is so finely crafted. Also, it comes in a beautiful hand-blown glass bottle.
